Some things make me angry. Some things make me irate. And other things give me rage that I cannot explain. Health insurance is one of those last things. First of all, it’s the biggest rip-off in the world. Secondly, it’s probably the most misunderstood thing ever. If you think you got a good deal, you’re wrong. Just when something bad actually happens, you find out that your insurance is crap, you are on your own. Can you do anything about it? No, because you signed a contract. On the other side, you can get really good coverage if you give up half of every paycheck. If you’re like me, you never get sick, and so you never see that money again. The end result is this: The ‘responsible’ people get good coverage, but because they are responsible, they never have to use it. The irresponsible people get the cheap coverage, and get hurt, and then get nothing out of it. Where does all the money go then? I think you already know the answer to that one.

Some time ago there was a horde of monkeys that would harrass me at random times. On second thought, maybe they weren’t so random, being as how it was only when I stayed up late. Not exactly sure how they climbed up the side of Kesler, but they haven’t bothered me at the new house. I ought to mention (before you all think I’m a drug addict) that the monkeys are purely a figment of my own imagination. I think they may have been sent by Bill Gates. That would explain the fact that they never really served any useful purpose.

Sometimes one gets so disillusioned with this world. It seems so evil, so full of itself. So vain that it is blind to the peril that awaits. It’s enough to make one homesick. You long for just a taste of heaven. You can almost taste it, and feel it, and you almost can see it in your mind’s eye. And then you come floating down. Your face hits the earth, and you awake to find it was only a dream. Just a dream, because it is only an inkling of the paradise that awaits us. No dream could ever capture the reality that will one day come to be.
And so we wait, and we hope. We look out on this sad world, and one thought holds us on our course. We have to believe it can change. Even if it is only one person, we have to believe that they can come back to the truth. That there is a limit to the madness in the hearts of men that can be overcome by the infinite love of our savior. That there is still hope.
