I noticed today, that my last post was from July 4th. I also noticed that it said nothing about fireworks. I love fireworks. Just thought you all should know that. There’s just something about blowing things up, and the anticipation of seeing what comes next. We went to a show, and then had a few youth over and put on our own show. The one we watched was pretty cool, but doing your own is a whole lot more fun. I’ll have some pics of the one we went to shortly.

at long last
We bought a house a while back. And then the work began. We’ve painted just about every room in the house, and I know there are many curious folk out there who want to see what we’ve been up to. So without further ceremony, go check out the ‘New New House’ in the gallery.
update: I also added a couple adorable pics of Arnold in the Guinea gallery.

bee, c, d, & e
This week was a busy one, and in the middle of it all, I killed a bee in the computer lab. It was probably more of a wasp or something, but then it wouldn’t fit in with my title. We’ve been installing new software at work, and getting trained on that which gets a moderate-high on the exciting scale. (more…)

boost
We finally moved into our new house last Friday. I think I have pictures on my laptop somewhere, so I’ll have to post those. Once we have everything all painted, I’ll take some more so we can get a before/after type view of it. We are painting all the rooms upstairs, and having to pull wallpaper off in the living room, and carpet out of the bed rooms. Had been working pretty steady since we moved in on Friday, and I was wondering when we were going to feel like we had made any progress.
Then yesterday, my aunt, uncle and grandma showed up, and things went like lightning. We got all the wallpaper off (even the border in the spare room). The carpet is all gone (nice hardwood floors underneath), and the slime pit which existed under the stove is now gone. I was also able to get a bunch of nail holes patched before we finally crashed for the evening. Now we just need to paint, and things will really start looking good (it already looks a lot better).

whirl
March was a month of madness (no pun intended). So much has happened, that I don’t even remember it all. Early in the month, we had Spring Break (during which we were still working in the IT office). I ran lights for a play produced by the Historical Society in Ellendale. We found a house to buy, and are currently in the loan application process. I also preached for youth group a week ago, and for church last Sunday as well. It’s always incredible to see how God can take a good sermon, and make it really impact people’s lives in a way you never expected.
