  • promotion

Last week was also my first week working full time at Trinity Bible College. I work in IT (Information Technology, a fancy way of saying “I work on computers”) and am quite excited about my promotion. Right before the baby mollies were born, two of my bettas got in a fight, and one died (leaving me with 2). So I put the babies in the compartment where the betta was. Yesterday, we had a blizzard. It was awesome, since I love snow. It was unawesome (yes, “unawesome” is a word, because I just created it), because I had to haul my computer out in the cold for some LAN gaming at the school. The End. No really, stop reading. I mean it. Sorry, couldn’t resist typing one more sentence. Now I’m off, for real…and stuff.

  • free antivirus update

AVG released version 7, which is a pretty major upgrade. It also generates it’s own serial number, so you don’t have the whole hassle of waiting for an email with your code, and download link. Only things of major importance will show up on this page from now on (like when the world ends).

  • mozilla

In other news, Mozilla Firefox is gaining significant market share on Internet Exploder (and that’s not a typo). Just since December, it has gained nearly a whole percentage point, and IE has lost nearly the same amount. I love Firefox, although i usually prefer the functions of the Mozilla Suite (being able to have my email and calendar all in one app) even if it is a little slower to load. I would give you a link, but there’s already one at the bottom of the site.

  • ubuntu

Ok, since converting Free For All, I haven’t really come across anything else worth the effort of conversion. What has happpened though is that I have a new favorite OS (operating system). I am now using Ubuntu Linux. The installer is the simplest I’ve seen, although not the prettiest. Once you have it installed, it is quite impressive. It comes with just the apps you would expect, and no more; plus it is incredibly polished. You can also install anything else you want from the world’s largest software repository, as it is Debian-based. Everything is quite well done, from the visual aspects, to the sound scheme. No detail is too small to escape the attention of the development team. They will even send you a free CD if you don’t have a high speed connection, or would rather not bother creating your own.

  • gallery

I’ve also added a gallery. For now, anyone can join, and you get your own personal gallery. Unless some wackos start posting nasty stuff, I’ll leave membership open to the general populace. Otherwise, I’ll have to restrict it to friends and family.
