Babies have the coolest toys…ever. This weekend I’m visiting my aunt and uncle, and my cousin is up from missouri, so I get to see their daughter, Kira, for the first time ever. I held her, she cried. Chrystine took her back, immediately, she was silent. For the rest of the night, we ate, and watched Kira play with all her toys. It’s dreadfully exciting, mostly because I wonder, “why didn’t I have cool toys like that when I was a baby?” Of course, even if I did, I wouldn’t remember them. In all, it’s been pretty exciting, but now I’m feeling rather uninspired.

gamey
Not sure if that’s actually a word. Well, it is, but the spelling might be off. Before I bore you with semantics, let me get to the point. Gaming consoles are too expensive. The new PlayStation3 will retail for $400 (it costs $500 to make, but that’s another story). At this rate, consoles will be five times the price of a desktop computer within five years. Whatever happened to the good old days when a console was $150 brand new? Has inflation really gone up that much?
Back when I first got my computer, my argument for not getting a console was that I could play games on the computer, and do everything else too, so the price evened out. With console prices going up, and computer prices dropping ever lower, my argument just keeps looking better and better. I’m sure someone has a good excuse for owning both a console and a computer, but for someone on a budget like me, it just doesn’t make a lot of sense. -
deluge
The gallery is all transferred over, all links will be updated shortly. So I was going to take pictures of all the flowers and such around the house, but we got rained out. The mosquitoes will be out in force again. Just when I was hoping that they would start to disappear, we get more rain. This is quite possibly the rainiest June I’ve ever seen. Well, it’s almost over. Maybe we’ll have a rainy July too. At least it stays cool that way.

outlaws
Had the family over this weekend. It was crazy, and fun, and tiring, and after it was all said and done, I’m glad we did it. Got a lot done, got a new mower, realized I’m still not perfect, and ate lots of food. The yard looks amazing, thanks to Mandy’s parents. I’ll have to take some pictures and upload them. The first thing I need to do is completely revamp the gallery. Sad day, but it has to happen. I was using an unstable version of Gallery, and it finally caught up to me. So I’m going to start that as soon as i finish here.

human
Finally had enough of ubuntu linux. Their buzz word is ‘human’. I don’t like it. I want my computer to act like a computer, feel like a computer, and actually treat me like I’m the human. I don’t want it to think for me. I want to give it input. I want to know why it does the things it does. I want to be able to solve my problems when something doesn’t work quite right. I want to be involved. Maybe I’m crazy. Maybe I’m just not ‘human’ enough.
