I sent this email recently to urlblacklist.com and have received no response. Obviously, I don’t have to use their service, no one is forcing me into anything here, but I feel their current and potential customers have a right to know what’s going on. (more…)

In other news, I got four more ghost shrimp over the weekend, so now I’m back up to a whopping eight shrimp. The lady picked out the four biggest ones she could find, so they are most likely females (not being mean, that’s just the way the female shrimp are). One of them was very pregnant.

Today, I noticed one of the pregnant shrimp looked a bit smaller. It would appear that maybe some of the eggs hatched, but it still looks like there are some there. I’ll have to do a bit of observing to be sure.

Recently, my aunt Debbie put together a VCD (video CD) and a CD full of family photos. Being the nerd that I am, I thought it would be neat to post them on my website, so here they are.

I haven’t finished uploading them quite yet, but it shouldn’t take me too much longer. There are many more to be scanned also, but this is certainly a very good start (around 700 photos total).

I’m also working on compiling as much of our family history as I can. There are several documents found on the CD (which will also be posted) that will help, and hopefully I can find more info online. If anyone has any information that can help, please let me know. Even the smallest tidbits are welcome (birth dates, birth places, wedding dates & locations, etc.).

I’ll eventually find a mechanism for displaying the data online. Hopefully, I’ll find a piece of software that will take the raw output and format it for me.

Two posts in one day. Technically, no. But it is two posts in under twelve hours. When’s the last time you saw that? Huh? Huh? Yeah, I can’t remember either. To the point then: I was catching up on some news…the Planet Gnome sort. Someone mentioned that they had given in, and created a myspace profile. For the record (and those who don’t already know): I hate myspace. I was about ready to fly into a blind rage, and delete my profile, until I got there, and saw some friend requests, and new messages and such. Jon posted 2 comments, and I’d like to take a moment to say, “I miss you guys too”. (more…)

  • small update

I’ve got some good news, and some bad news. The bad news is that you don’t get to choose. Actually, I separated my pregnant ghost shrimp so that her babies could have a chance to not get eaten when they hatch. Unfortunately, she died sometime in the night, so the babies are done for. The good news is that I have another pregnant ghost shrimp. Unfortunately, I’m down to 4 of them now, so I’m really counting on those babies to survive. It could be two weeks or more until they hatch, so for now, I wait. Maybe Walmart will still have some left next time we go down there. At any rate, I can’t abide the thought of life without ghost shrimp right now… Ok, maybe I could, but not very well.
