This is officially the coolest web server plugin ever. No really, it is.
We are taking all of our tape archives from the library, and converting them to digital format. While this is cool, and we can just set up your basic ftp server, I wanted something better. Enter mod_musicindex. It allows you to stream files, download them, stream them in shuffle mode, and search them. When you’re dealing with 7,000 mp3s, that can be a little slow (around 45 seconds), but it still works.

My red cambodian bettas finally showed up on Friday. Unfortunately, one of them arrived dead, but the guy I bought them from has graciously agreed to give me part of my money back. They are quite pretty, as you can see in the gallery. The pictures actually don’t do the male justice, although the female shows up quite nicely. Her name is Elbereth, which is elfin for something, it’s from LOTR, so look it up if your curiosity is getting the better of you. His name is Firefly, even if he is a fish, and not an insect.

Went to Target tonight, quite possibly the coolest store on earth. If you are lucky enough to have one nearby, go see if their import section is on sale. I got some cool candles from there tonight, and if you like candles, you can go to the gallery to drool. The pics are in the section for my apartment.

I am now engaged to the love of my life. I’ll be getting married in August in Nebraska. Now I actually have an excuse to celebrate February 14th, since I don’t believe in Valentine’s Day. I’m taking a break from calling all the friends and relatives to update this page. I’ll have to email all the people I don’t have phone numbers for or people that weren’t home (Afton). Well, that’s all for now.

I don’t believe in Valentine’s Day. Now, before you all think I’m an unromantic stick in the mud, hear me out. It’s not that I don’t believe in celebrating love, there’s actually several good reasons. First, I don’t like to be predictable. There’s no way on this earth that you can surprise a girl on Valentine’s Day. Why? Because they are already expecting something. Second, it’s a cheat for jerks. They can forget and neglect their wives (and girlfriends, and fiances) all year long, and just make up for it on Valentine’s Day when the whole world is reminding them to remember the love that they misplaced last year on February 15. Thirdly, I don’t know who Saint Valentine was, neither do I have any idea why I should love my girlfriend more on his day than any other day.
Lest you think I really am a heartless jerk that doesn’t want to spend money on flowers and chocolates, Mandy and I celebrated love yesterday, February 11.
