I’ve just added the program phpgedview on my website. This allows me to publish (and edit) all the genealogy information I have on my father’s side from any computer with web access. I’ll be updating it with info from my mother’s side soon. If you would like to help me out in this endeavor, please click the link above, then click ‘login’ at the top, and request an account. Note, information on living persons can only be viewed by registered users.

I’ve been here, there, and everywhere. Back in August we went to western Montana, and camped out a couple days for our honeymoon. It was absolutely gorgeous there, and I think I have some photos around here somewhere. I’ll have to post those later. On the way back, we got a call from a hospital in Sidney. They offered me a job, but I declined it. I might be crazy, but I just didn’t feel right about the job.
School’s back in full swing, and work has been nuts. Lots of new people to explain the same old stuff to. “Here’s your password for the eightieth time, and no, you can’t change it.” Otherwise, there’s been lots of fun. We’ve got a new feature to be added to the college website soon, which is a lot of fun.
In other awesome news, Apple just released the iPod Touch, which is fantastic. I really want one. Really. I’ve never been big on mp3 players, as I had one once, and only ever used it on long road trips. It also didn’t help that it went through 4 AA batteries in 2 hours. Ouch. But this one does more than music. Of course, it does video, but it also has built-in wireless, so you can surf the net, browse Youtube, or even shop the iTunes store and buy music right to your iPod. It also has a few useful tools like a Calendar and Contacts.

We spent last week in Omaha (or thereabouts). We went to a KOA in Gretna, which was excellent. We tent-camped the first night, and then spent five nights in a Cabin. We were visited on Tuesday afternoon by Jen Courtney and her two daughters, and then went to their house for dinner that evening. We learned a new game called ‘Loser’, which was a hoot. On Thursday, Amanda’s parents came down from North Platte, and we spent the rest of the weekend in a motel with them. On Saturday we visited the Henry Doorly Zoo, which was phenomenal.

We arrived at around 9:00 A.M. and didn’t leave until after 6:00 P.M. Even still, we had to skip a whole section of the zoo because we were too wore out by then. On Sunday, we visited the Lauritzen Botanical Gardens, which were gorgeous.

We returned north on Sunday afternoon.

Last month (June) and the month before (May), we had a lot of rain. To escape the flood in our basement, we jumped aboard the ark. Well… maybe not. But we wished we could. Instead we moved stuff here and there to escape the water that was continually streaming into the basement. Then it stopped, and there was peace (except the wind). Then, out of nowhere, we had a storm that lasted about 15 minutes. It certainly didn’t do 15 minutes worth of damage. It took several large branches off two of our trees, and there were branches down all over town. I’m not sure if they even qualify as trees anymore, as they’ve both lost about two-thirds of their branches to date (the front tree lost another large branch while we were on vacation-more on that later). To prove it, I took pictures.

This is the first part of me catching up on my site. There will be several other updates to come. In April we adopted another guinea pig. She came from a rough home, and was taken in by a family here in Ellendale. They have lots of animals already, and couldn’t really afford to take care of another one, so they asked if we would like to adopt her. And so we did:

There’s a few more in the gallery under ‘Daisy’ and I’m sure there will be more to come in the future.
